Last week I posted about the pending shakeup in the county's Ethics Committee. At the time, I didn't have the resume for county Mayor Tim Burchett's pick.
Here it is right smack here.
Anyhoo, the mayor has nominated Raj Patel, the current director of rehab for Summit View Health Services. Patel also owns the Quality Inn & Suites Waterpark Hotel off Cedar Bluff Road; the Falls Conference Center & Banquet Hall on Cedar Bluff Road; and the Creekside Inn on Lovell Road.
He earned a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He also earned a degree in biology from UT in Knoxville.
The commission later this month will probably sign off on him.
“I think he's gong to be an excellent choice – he's a family man and very active in the A.L. Lotts school community; and he's a small business person who comes with very good recommendations,” the mayor said.
