Wimberly, a Knoxville-West High School and University of Tennessee graduate,
stood for election in the office of Circuit Court Judge in 1988 and has been
re-elected three times. During his tenure he has been known as a champion of children’s
rights, During his term of service, overseeing more than 600 adoptions and has
placed over 1,000 children into homes, according to a release.
He faces Bill Ailor in the Aug. 7 general election.
