Knox County early voting ends today

Today is the last day to cast a ballot in the Aug. 7 elections. The 10 early voting locations will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for the Death Star, which will be operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Knox County elections stud Cliff Rodgers said late yesterday that so far 4,000 residents have signed a petition to get the "wine" vote on the November ballot for Knox County. (6,420 are needed.) It's already on for Knoxville and Farragut.

Overall, more people have voted so far than the entire number of voters during May's election. We also are ahead of where we were this time four years ago (by more than 400 votes).
