Knox County-Knoxville evaluation team spent more than 18 months
overseeing a bidding and negotiation process to replace an outdated
emergency radio broadcasting system that is used by thousands of local
first responders.
But on Wednesday, the Knox County E-911 board of
directors declined to approve the $9 million contract, opting instead
to send it back and have officials start over.
