Meeting to talk about how city should spend federal $$ for neighborhoods

During the past six months, some 900 residents have shared ideas through surveys and public meetings about how Knoxville should best allocate its federal grants in neighborhoods, according to a news release.

The City’s Community Development Department since then has drafted a strategy for addressing the needs identified, and is now inviting feedback to the 2015-16 Annual Action Plan and the Five-Year Consolidated Plan.

The city will now host another public to talk more about the matter. The 2015-16 Annual Action Plan details the proposed use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds for the first year of the Five-Year Plan, beginning July 1, 2015.
