Law Director Armstrong kicking off re-election campaign on Thursday

Knox County Law Director Richard "Bud" Armstrong will kick off his re-election campaign at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Crowne Plaza.

I expect there will probably be a pretty big crowd that will feature a number of local leaders, including county Mayor Tim Burchett, Commissioner Bob Thomas and some Board of Education members.

The Knox County Primary is set for March 1. At this point only local lawyer Nathan Rowell has picked up a petition to challenge Armstrong in the Republican primary. As always, send me your campaign information.

The deadline to qualify for the election is noon Dec. 10.
