An investigation Tuesday showed the doors of the Old Knox County
Courthouse were locked early by a Public Building Authority officer,
preventing voter registration applications from being filed before
deadline.
As a result of the "very unusual set of circumstances,"
according to Knox County Administrator of Elections Cliff Rodgers, the
13 voter registration applications that were to be submitted Monday
afternoon will be accepted for review.
Also, authorities will
"preserve evidence" in the case should the registrations later become an
issue in any election, Rodgers said.
